IEEE Conference on Communications and Network Security (CNS) Call for Workshop Proposals

The IEEE Conference on Communications and Network Security (CNS) is a conference series in IEEE Communications Society (ComSoc) core conference portfolio and the only ComSoc conference focusing solely on cyber security. Building on the success of the past five years’ conferences, IEEE CNS 2018 solicits proposals for workshops in conjunction with the conference to be held in Beijing, China from May 30 to June 1, 2018.

A workshop associated with CNS must be one full day in length. Each workshop should provide a forum to address a specific topic at the forefront of communications and network security research. Workshop papers will be included in the CNS conference proceeding and also IEEE Xplore. Submissions of workshop proposals must reach the workshop chairs by December 15, 2017.

Workshop Proposal Submission
A workshop proposal should contain at least the following information:

  • Workshop title
  • Motivation, rationale, and proposed format for the workshop
  • A draft "Call for Papers" articulating the scope and topics covered by the workshop
  • Expected number of submissions and acceptance rate
  • Expected number of attendees
  • Program chair(s), and if available, tentative program committee
  • A one-paragraph biographical sketch for each main organizer, describing relevant qualifications in research and conference/workshop organizing experience
  • Past history of the workshop, if any, including number of submissions, number of accepted papers, and number of registered attendees for the most recent incarnation of the workshop

Proposal Evaluation Criteria
Each workshop proposal will be carefully evaluated based on the following criteria:

  • The workshop is within the scope of communications and network security
  • An important technical topic of high interest and high impact in the community
  • Novelty with respect to other CNS workshops and forums
  • Potential to attract high participation
